In a reversal of time, typical of dreams, an ageing actor waiting to perform in Strindberg's The Tempest relives moments from his life. The theatre's soundtrack, as it prepares for the performance, provides an opportunity to wander around and talk to the ghosts of the past, where sounds, laughter, and silences evoke distant joys and losses. Massimo Popolizio delicately explores the character of the actor, revealing secrets that remain shrouded in mystery and offering an uncelebratory portrait of the artist. In an evocative setting, sounds and images engage in an imaginary dialogue with the protagonist, accompanying him towards the Temporale — a suspended, barely postponed destination. Orsini confidently entrusts Popolizio with recounting fragments of the actor's life and the history of our country from the post-war period to the present day.
