Roberto Valerio directs Claudio Casadio, Loredana Giordano, Valentina Carli, and Leone Tarchiani in a new production of Carlo Goldoni's masterpiece, Gli Innamorati (The Lovers). This comedy tells the story of universal and timeless love, full of contradictions and tensions that mirror human behaviour. Eugenia and Fulgenzio experience a passionate love that leads to jealousy amid arguments, reconciliations, and conflicting desires. Goldoni encourages young people to identify with the characters, laughing at them so as not to be laughed at themselves. The work remains modern because it highlights the fragility and comical irrationality of love. The protagonists are surrounded by a gallery of lively characters who complicate the story. One such character is Fabrizio, Eugenia's uncle, who is a talkative and good-natured liar who can trigger general hilarity.
